See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. Colossians 2:8
Our world is full of talk…opinions and advice is free flowing. How can we know what to believe? How can we not be taken captive by the words of the world, when they sound so good?

- Continue in the faith, firmly established and steadfast, and not move away from the hope of the gospel… Col 1:23
- Keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Col. 3:1
- Let the word of Christ richly dwell within us, with all wisdom… Col 3:16
- Pray…to be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects… Col 1:9-10
